Screwpile Extension GM 76x1000x3

The Screwpile Extension GM 76x1000x3 is an extension section for the GM ground screw system. It is coupled to a driven pile to reach deeper, more stable soil layers, or to raise the pile head above the finished ground level — for example on a slope, over water, or where a deck sits well above grade.

The section is 76 mm in diameter, 1000 mm long and made from 3 mm wall S235 steel with a hot-dip galvanised finish, so it matches the corrosion protection of the pile it extends.

When you need an extension

• Soft or made-up ground — the first metre gives no useful bearing and the pile has to reach a firmer layer.
• Sloping sites — the downhill piles have to stand proud of the ground to keep the deck frame level.
• Decks over water or wetland — jetties, pontoon walkways and lakeside terraces.
• Raised terraces and elevated platforms — where the finished floor is well above grade.
• Heavier structures — carports, garden rooms and cabins that need deeper anchorage.

Installation

Drive the base pile until only the coupling remains above ground, then join the extension and continue driving. Tighten the connection fully before loading. Extensions can be stacked where very deep anchorage is required. Installation equipment is available for hire.
