Product details

The Fastshifter FT1 pedestal is an adjustable support for deck substructures built on timber or aluminium joists. It carries the joist on a wide, stable head and lets you set the finished deck height anywhere between 21 mm and 27 mm — a 6 mm adjustment range — simply by turning the pedestal body.

Pedestals let a terrace be laid on any solid base — paving, concrete, a balcony slab, a roof, compacted gravel or crushed stone — without screeding or levelling the substrate. The gap under the boards ventilates the structure, drains rainwater away and gives a route for cables and pipework.

Key features

  • Height 21–27 mm — 6 mm of fine screw-thread adjustment.
  • Load capacity up to 800 kg per pedestal.
  • Reinforced recycled polypropylene — UV-stable, frost-proof, rot-proof and fully recyclable.
  • Adjustable from above — the height can be corrected after the joists are laid.
  • Wide head and base — spreads load and protects roof membranes and waterproofing.
  • Usage rate — approx. 1 pcs/m² with a double joist layout, 3–3.5 pcs/m² with a single joist layout.

Where it is used

  • Timber and composite decking on wood or aluminium joists.
  • Ceramic, porcelain and concrete paving on raised terraces.
  • Balconies, roof terraces and podium decks over waterproofing.
  • Pool and fountain surrounds, where drainage below the surface matters.
  • Solar array and plant-room walkways.
  • Pavilions, mobile homes, exhibition floors and other temporary structures.
  • Industrial and technical raised floors.

Accessories

A slope adjuster can be added to level the deck over a graded or falling base. Rubber support pads under the pedestal base spread the load further, damp footfall noise and protect the substrate. Where more height is needed, use a pedestal extension or move up to the next model in the range.

Installation

Set out the pedestals on a firm, clean base at the spacing your joist section requires, set the approximate height, lay the joists, then walk the deck and fine-tune each pedestal until the frame is flat. No fixing into the substrate is needed — the deck is ballasted by its own weight, which is what makes this system suitable over waterproofing.
